Onay Payne

Born in Jamaica and raised on Long Island, N.Y., Onay Payne earned a Bachelor’s in history and literature and then an MBA at Harvard. She spent two decades at real estate investment giant Clarion Partners, rising to Managing Partner, and headed real estate at Lafayette Square, a middle market private credit platform, before joining Manulife Investment Management in 2023. As Senior Managing Director, Onay works with Manulife’s portfolio companies to build strategies around climate resilience and housing equity.
